Slovak Republic

Officially, it is already a foreign country, but Slovakian landscape, culture and language are very close to me. The range of the Malá Fatra Mountains is one of my favourite places on this planet. The Roháče Mountains and the High Tatras invoke almost a sacred respect in me because of the shape and altitude. I also like the calmness of the Czech-Slovakian boundary full of troubled history. Cabins made of logs scattered on both sides of the boundary invoke a desire in me to travel in time and visit these places at the time of no light pollution and when the overall settlement was low, the fields were farmed and hillsides were grazed by domestic animals. It is the stories of people living in these areas for centuries that make me see these parts almost fabulous.
