From all the genres, panoramic landscape photography is the one closest to my heart. It is my aim to capture detailed landscape features in one big picture. I have always liked large paintings of old masters, which you can look at again and again, and you would always find something new there, hidden in details. In this particular gallery you will find a selection of photos from several countries that I have lived in or just visited as a tourist, but most importantly I was able to take photographs.
In my opinion the view up to the stars is one of the most beautiful that a person can see throughout his life. I vividly remember the very first time I saw Milky Way. It happened almost 25 years ago, at our cottage in the Beskydy Mts. It was in the Jeseníky Mts. that I tried to take photo of Milky Way for the very first time. At that time from a balcony of the Kurzovní Sporthotel, I tried to capture it so that it would be in the shot with Peter’s stones. I was delighted by the result; well there was something in the picture. Still, in comparison with breath-taking photos that I saw on the internet, it was worthless. As a geologist I often see very interesting samples of rocks and minerals at my work, but also beyond my work duties. I do my best to take detailed photos of these samples. This gallery shows shots of minerals and rocks mainly from the Czech Republic, but also from other parts of the world that I was privileged to borrow and take photos of. Some of my pictures are parts of publications, and also relatively often published in the Mineral magazine.
